Visions of foaming ocean waves are a typical example of Sosnovsky’s work. He paints the dynamics of the sea level with artisanal care, using the soft light of the sun shining through the clouds to lighten the scenery. Sosnovsky was born in Kyiv and originally studied history and philosophy. After the war he started to study painting under Alexei Hanzen, the grandson of Ivan Konstantinovich Aivazovsky, and from him he adopted the subjects of the sea and seacoast. He later settled in the Balkans and in Sweden.
