Antonín Waldhauser looked for motifs almost exclusively in the Czech landscape. The "restless and wandering painter" scrupulously explored many places and tried to capture the distinctive and monumental character of the Czech landscape. Most of his works were painted on small intimate formats - he liked to paint on cigar box boards. The format of the present work is therefore a unique and significant find. The absence of a signature is not unusual for Waldhauser, who often returned to his paintings. He probably signed the works after they left the studio. Although Waldhauser was one of the Romantics in his generation, the landscape eventually won him over so much that he turned to realism and painted very impressive sections of real nature. The painting is accompanied by expert opinions of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová and Prof. Roman Prahl CSc. Verso labels with the inscription.
