An imposing cartel clock from the reign of Napoleon III in the style of Louis XV, with a rich decoration of materials consisting of brass and tortoiseshell made in the boulle technique combined with dynamic massive chased fire-gilt bronzes with floral morphology, topped with a bird scene on the top and polished brass on the sides. The gilt dial bears the likeness of King Louis XV and has enamel insets with blue coloured Roman numerals. This is an exceptionally representative example of the craftsmanship excellence of French bronzers with their designs for interior furnishings. Clock case completely restored, machine to be adjusted by a watchmaker.
