The work A Pilgrimage to Svatý Kopeček ("The Holy Hill") belongs to significant themes of the Czech landscape painted by Bohumír Dvorský. In the form which he uses to layer the paint on canvas you can find a reference to Paul Cézanne, who became his great role model. The diagonal formed by the living guide directs the viewer's gaze to the city and the wildly swirling sky. He creates an immediate sensory experience with a touch of a hot summer day during crop season. Bohumír Dvorský's way of perceiving and using colors is extremely optimistic with the vivid dynamics of brush strokes. Bohumír Dvorský was to become the book binder, but its painting enticed. His Pilgrimage to Svatý Kopeček may reflect his period in Moravia, where he painted near Svatý kopeček and Haná.
