František Bílek generously devoted several concepts to the topic of the creator and pain. He created one of the sculptures in a bronze variant for the tombstone of the Czech poetic icon Otokar Březina for the cemetery in Jaroměř nad Rokytnou. The pair of characters reflects Bílek's approach to creation - they project strong emotions into wood, a material that had a long history in his family. František Bílek is experiencing the pain of time here and now. His conception becomes his human confession, which he does not hesitate to show externally. He describes the ubiquitous pain that accompanies and inspires him in his work as a purposeful woman with a fixed gaze, while in the role of the creator he writhes in her embrace. Each of his works is both a prayer and a confession of a sensitive and penitent artist. Artwork comes from a collection of architect Jan Kotěra.
