Adolf Hoffmeister achieved true mastery in the field of caricature - he managed to simplify reality without sacrificing anything important. He drew his characters with a simple line, which he used to achieve a precise likeness and constantly expanded his expressive register. He found his ideas in the environment he knew intimately, in which he moved and focused on personalities of cultural life. In the caricature presented here: Karel Matěj Čapek-Chod, Hanuš Jelínek, Otakar Fischer, Stanislav Lom, František Langer, F.X. Šalda, Karel Čapek, J. Kubíček and Adolf Hoffmeister. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
