A charming ceramic marabou statue with a frog with the numerical marking 201. The tradition of pottery production in Bechyně dates back to the 16th century, which is related to the clay deposits in the vicinity of this South Bohemian town. The first ceramics school was founded here in 1884 as the first Czech ceramics school on the territory of the Austro-Hungarian Empire to train stonemasons, potters and pottery painters. Its tradition is currently continued by the Secondary School of Arts and Crafts in Bechyně. Painted all over with dripping glazes. Excellent condition.
