The very rarely appearing relief Prometheus and the Walker, by the Czech sculptor Olbram Zoubek, depicts a stylized gilded figure of Prometheus, which we know from the artist's individual relief images. The mythological Titan is joined on the left by a walker, who is separated from Prometheus by a hinted vertical. In his artistic expression, Zoubek has arrived at a characteristic expression based on a very expressive, even haptic, work with matter. After graduating from the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Josef Wagner's studio, Olbram Zoubek resorted to restoring historical sculptures and sgraffiti, mainly because he was inconvenient for the regime as an artist and could not exhibit officially. However, he continued to devote himself to sculpture; in 1996 he was awarded the state Medal of Merit 1st degree. His largest retrospective exhibition to date, comprising some 300 exhibits, took place in 2013 in the Prague Castle Riding Hall. The work is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity from the Kmentová Zoubek Foundation and Polana Bregantová, PhD.
