Jindřich Wielgus studied with Prof. K. Dvořák at the UPRUM in Prague, with Prof. O. Španiel at the Academy of Fine Arts there and with A. Zanelli at the Academia di belle Arti in Rome. He worked as an assistant to Prof. V. Vokálek at the State Ceramic School in Prague. In the 1970s he created small lyrical sculptures based on the meeting of reality and fantasy. He was involved in drawing, graphics, and illustrated a number of poetry books. His work was inspired by the avant-garde works of Josef Čapek and Otto Gutfreund. He created monumental works in architecture, stone or ceramics, for example, reliefs in the hospital in Jihlava, the polyclinic in Vsetín or the hospital in Ostrava-Poruba. A label from the bottom of the wooden plinth.
