From the expert opinion of PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová: "Navrátil was primarily a landscape painter and the author of many wall paintings, but in the 1950s he also turned his attention to realistically seen still lifes. The impetus was a commission from a friend Jan Chlumecký, merchant of wine, fruit and foreign spices. For display they also painted the cabinet of his delicatessen "U Itala" and two signboards on sheet metal. At the bottom of the back, inscription: Josef Navrátil, Still life with fruit from the collection of MUDr. A Engelbrecht, Teige exhibition 1931, No. 11. Label on loan to the National Gallery for the J. Navrátil exhibition in 1965 also present.
