Jan Bočan graduated from the Faculty of Architecture of the Czech Technical University in Prague in 1962, where he returned in 1990 as the head of the studio. His most famous realizations include the Intercontinental Hotel in Prague and the Czechoslovak Embassies in London, Stockholm, and Brazil. The offered pair of armchairs made of bent slats was designed by Jan Bočan into the furniture of the truly iconic building of the Czechoslovak Embassy in Stockholm, in which architects Zdeněk Rothbauer and Jan Šrámek participated, as well as many other leading Czech artists who collaborated on detailed interior decoration ( Libenský, Brychtová, Demartini, Cígler, Kolíbal). Nowadays, the building, which is on the list of Swedish cultural monuments, does not serve Czech diplomacy, as it was bought by a private owner in the late 1990s. Original preserved condition.
