Gočár's unique Cubist library with a total of four glass doors consists of two parts connected to each other. The protruding angled body of the library is replaced by black inwardly facing double-angled frames, doors with the original frosted structured glass. The lockable door has a lock with cubist star fittings with a key. Inside five shelves. The offered Cubist library comes from the equipment of the villa of Professor Julius Glücklich, which was designed for him by Josef Gočár: a functionalist villa in the Baba colony (Na Babě 2, Jarní ul. No. 1798/3). The desk for V. V. Štech from 1914 has the same fittings - see. catalog Czech Cubism - Architecture and Design 1910-1925, p. 204. The library is an extremely rare example of timeless world design by one of the most prominent designers and architects of Czech Cubism, Josef Gočár, whose cabinets, libraries, and displays, especially from the first years of Cubist work, can be considered almost original sculptures. The furniture comes from an extensive collection of Czech collector living in Germany.
