The sculpture from the world-famous workshop of Pilsen-born Friedrich Goldcheider represents a member of the Kabyle culture inhabiting the mountainous region of south-eastern Algeria. This model by Arthur Strasser was designed for several size variants. Offered sculpture is one of the larger models; a smaller model has in its collections the Wien Museum together with a female variant, Kabyle woman. The serial number on the back of the statue: 827, 48. In 1885, Goldscheider left Pilsen for Vienna, where he founded a famous ceramic company, which collaborated with the artists of the time and later also producers such as Rosenthal and Keramos. Goldscheoder's works are still exhibited all over the world: in 2007 in Vienna and Prague, 2009 in New York or in 2015 in Leipzig. Published by: Dechant R. E. and F.
