This standing figure is a rare example of the non-commissioned work of sculptor and medal maker Ladislav Kozák. After studying glass, glyptic art and applied sculpture under Professor Karel Štipl at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague, Kozák has systematically focused on medal making since the 1960s. He is primarily known as the creator of the CZK 10 coin and the bi-metallic CZK 50 coin, which received the Best Trade Coin award for 1993. This work is from the estate of the artist's family.
