Although František Hudeček did not complete his studies under Professor Kysela at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design, he met people at the academy: Gross, Toyen, Štýrský, E. F. Burian, Rykr, Kolář, Janoušek, and of course Chalupecký, who had a strong impact on him. His art was influenced by many forms, from Surrealism, Poetic Symbolism, Cubism and Constructivist tendencies to Op Art. The work presented here, which clearly exhibits profound trauma from the war as well as a sense of hope, dates from the period when Hudeček was an active member of Group 42. Obtained from the important collection of Vladimír Preclík. Oil on canvas. Signed and dated on bottom left "Fr. Hudeček", on back of canvas "Fr. Hudeček 'Jitro tvarů' 1945".
