A rare antique Turkish Anatolian Kula prayer rug with tombs. A collectible wool rug with a very rare and unique design, known among experts as a "mezarlikli hali" (rug with tombs/tombs). It belongs to the group of special carpets, which also includes the group of 'manzarali hali' (depicting landscapes) and 'gemili hali' (depicting ships). Our carpet is a kind of symbolic reminder in the style of "memento mori" and in a broader sense the cypress trees with cemetery crosses symbolize the end and the journey of the soul to the afterlife. The border is interesting, more in the tradition of the Ghiordes resort, so the design is a very interesting mix. Size approx. 172 x 122 cm. Very good condition, full smooth fleece, professionally cleaned on both sides in December 2022.
