In his work, Josef Vyleťal outlined a completely new surreality through the archetypal similarities and symbolism of objects that he placed at the center of his paintings. Using numerous analogies, Nitro described cosmic eggs or egg shaped gems becoming the birthplace of new events, vessels and shells harboring the inner creative process, emotions and knowledge. The contours of memories are polarized into points of bright and radiant and gray abstracted wholes. The work of Josef Vyleťal is one of the jewels of post-war Czech art. Vyleťal's works from the exhibition in 1975 in Barcelona became the subject of an admiration letter sent to him by Salvador Dali himself. He wrote to him: "There are only two of us left."
