Jan Kotík was one of the prominent representatives of Czech art of the 20th century. He presented his work for the first time at the end of the 1930s at E.F. Burian, and when he was unable to exhibit in the 1950s, he devoted himself to design - both as a creator and as a theoretician. In painting, he tried to find his own way out and develop. In 1939, he thematically reflected on the big city, the war, and modeled the figure with a simple shortcut to dense colors in a carefully geometrized composition. On the back, you can find the layout of several larger canvases.
