František Drtikol's work has undergone many changes, from working with living models, through photographing figures to a shift to painting. His depictions of the world and the drama of the scenes were influenced by both the old masters and the symbolism, mysticism and aesthetics of Art Nouveau and Art Deco. František Drtikol used photography to express his own inner states. At a time when the position of photography in the field of art was still being debated, it significantly helped to promote it as a full-fledged field. The act in his conception represents the expression of a mystical symbol, "Femme fatale" in his conception comes to life and expresses itself, and the geometry of her body models the space of composition.
