Painter and glass artist Ivana Šrámková studied under Professor Stanislav Libenský at the Academy of Arts, Architecture and Design in Prague in 1981–1987. In addition to her acclaimed small glass sculptures and vases, she also creates sculptures whose size and weight are quite far from the ethereal quality of glass. She does not shy away from any subject in her work, from fauna to fantastic visitors from outer space. She approaches her depictions using various means, with detailed forms alternating with indications of only basic shapes. Very popular among collectors, her works are also represented in major public collections including the Museum of Decorative Arts and National Gallery in Prague, North Bohemian Museum in Liberec, Victoria and Albert Museum in London, Corning Museum of Glass in Corning, NY, Museum of Modem Art in Lausanne and Ulster Museum in Belfast.
