The field of illustration represents a very characteristic position in Janeček's work, where the ability of pictorial personification remains the main strength of the artist's imagination. In the context of children's literature, the principle of giving things or animals, especially birds, a human character or way of acting corresponds to the potential of children's imagination and gives it a precise direction. The imaginative charge, executed with drawing skill, is often based on the intermingling of reality and dream, of precise natural detail with the cosmic whole of the earthly world in the evocative unity between man and the natural world that Janeček's illustrations exude. The offered work, Spring, is part of a set of illustrations for a songbook for kindergartens published in 1986. Framed under anti-reflective glass with UV filter.
