Emile Gallé, born in Nancy, France, is considered by many to be the leading glassmaker of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. Pieces produced by his eponymous company were known for their beautiful shapes, rich color palettes and Art Nouveau-inspired decoration, often featuring popular motifs related to nature, botany and insects. The techniques Gallé promoted enabled his company to create the most modern glass on the market. The slender tall vase offered here, with its cloudy glass and pastel colors, is overlaid with green glass and with orange and yellow textured coloring in place of the flowers in the interior of the vase. Excellent condition.
