Poltergeists and ghosts are still a sought-after subject from the work of Cyril Bouda, who studied them very carefully and created illustrations for the work of Oscar Wilde - The Canterville Ghost and other prose from 1965. Cyril Bouda, in addition to his extensive painting and graphic work, was also important for his pedagogical activities. In the years 1946–1972 he worked as a professor at the Faculty of Education, Charles University. He first devoted himself to free graphics and painting. All his life he worked as an illustrator of books, especially fairy tales, Czech legends, humorous and historical books. He also translated his illustrations into cartoons. He was, among other things, a graphic designer of Czechoslovak stamps.
