This impressive dynamic work is the work of Olbram Zoubek, one of the most important Czech sculptors of the second half of the 20th century. After graduating from the Academy of Arts and Crafts in Josef Wagner's studio, the artist resorted to restoring historical sculptures and sgraffiti, mainly because he was inconvenient for the regime as an artist and could not exhibit officially. However, he continued to devote himself to sculpture; in 1996 he was awarded the state Medal of Merit 1st degree. His largest retrospective exhibition to date, comprising some 300 exhibits, took place in 2013 in the Prague Castle Riding Hall. The sculpture on offer, entitled Connection with the Cosmos, is the fourth variant of a design for a sculpture for a telecommunications facility in Prčice-Sedlce (in collaboration with Jindřich Malátek) from April 1988, which was later installed in Prague. The work exudes a characteristic, almost haptic work with matter, which is presented here with an urgency manifested by a strongly expressive female figure. In the inventory of the work under number 631. Assessed during consultations by PhDr. P. Bregantová.
