The artist is a known and acclaimed Austrian Biedermeier painter and printmaker. His talent was so great, he was accepted to the Academy of Fine Art in Vienna at the young age of 13. His favorite technique was watercolor, and he often depicted genre scenes from homes in the outskirts of Vienna, where he lived, and the homes of aristocrats, where he went to teach drawing and painting. This watercolor miniature shows a lyrical scene in which a mother bent over a crib is putting a toddler to sleep. Watercolor on paper. Signed on bottom left "Fendi".
