The majority of Tkadlík's work comprises religious themes, which he studied while he was in Rome (1824-32). There he was influenced by the Nazarene movement, which is expressed in his compositions and color. In her assessment, Dr. Blažíčková-Horová notes his striking similarity with Raphael's Madonnas in their facial features, tilted heads and simple attire. She also notes Tkadlík's abbreviation of his name to Kadlik, which he used while in Vienna. Oil on canvas, mounted on cardboard. Signed in right hand corner "Fr. Kadlik". Assessment: PhDr. Naděžda Blažíčková-Horová.
