Although František Drtikol is considered one of the most important world photographers of the first third of the 20th century and his work is represented in a number of public and private collections, in 1935, when he was 52 years old, he sold his studio in Vodičková street. He became famous with his nude photos, which also foreshadowed part of his painting work, which he fully devoted himself to in the following years. The half-naked woman represents a more realistic and materialized position of his work, where he is inspired by curves, light and shadow. His later work will make material women into luminous and exalted beings. Assessed by Stanislav Doležal Art. D.
