The work of Miloslav Hájek brings a combination of modern and archaic elements. The morphology of his sculptures cannot be denied the lines of modernity or expressive lyricism. In particular, Hájek's faces often have a dreamy impression and with their dramatic poses and cubist form represent a subtle and elegant direction in the modernist conception of the group Máj 57, which subscribed to the legacy of Picasso, Matisse, Derain, Kubišta, Filla, Zrzavý, Kremlička, Šíma and Tichý. The act of a girl with a hand in her hands was subjected by Miloslav Hájek to several treatments, the presented work Head is the original plaster model of the subsequently created bronze sculptures.
