A rare Cubist violin produced before 1920. It is most likely that the instrument was produced at a workshop in Central Europe. The violinmaker used high flame maple on the back plate fugued from two wedges and on the ribs.
The soundboard is made of spruce with moderately dense tree rings. The fingerboard, pegs, zero fret and tailpiece are made of ebony. The tail loop is made of sheep gut, and the ebony end pin is inset with mother-of-pearl. The shellac finish is worn in places.
