Fundamental influences in Krejca's direction as a painter were not only the quasi-aristocratic bearing of Professor Frantisek Muzika, studies at the Academy of Art, Architecture and Design in Prague in 1959–1965, but also Jan M. Tomes' almost poetic insight into the history of fine art. His personal meeting with Mikuláš Medek resulted in him long being a role model for Aleš Krejča. He also worked as a book designer for the publishing houses Artia, Aventinum, Albatros, Odeon, Mladá fronta, Československý (Český) spisovatel, Paseka, Sefer, and Torst. He has received several awards and honorable mentions in book design competitions. He is involved in the international painters' group Libellule, Czech art association Lugh, and the Pšovka Club for the Embellishment of Kokořínsko.
