Gacka is a submerging river in Croatia, which is famous for its clear and icy water with lush vegetation. The river itself ends in the village of Brlog, but is further drained through the Gacka canal to the sea coast. In February 2008, the Carinthian Art Association gave Siegfried Tragatschnig a retrospective of 80 works, which provide an overview of the various stages of artistic creation. Siegfried Tragatschnig studied the landscape extensively and in small details, and we know, for example, his watercolors with fish as the central motif from his trip to Australia.
