Vojtěch Erdélyi was one of the most important representatives of Transcarpathian art. He was born in Zahattia, Kingdom of Hungary, and studied art in Budapest. He founded the Transcarpathian Institute of Arts. The lovely coloristic landscapes that Vojtěch Erdélyi painted are based on their own uniqueness. Moments in the landscape show very effective means of expression and ingenious artistic shortcuts, sometimes with features of cubism. Through expressionist touches, rippled water and tightly contoured trees, it captures a moment on the river bank that has decided to immortalize in a generous format in atmospheric pastel accents. It is a very suggestive canvas with obvious painting experience and distinctly modernist features.
