The terracotta sculpture reflects the artist's admiration and fondness for ancient art. In its interesting form and execution it refers to fragments of monumental ancient sculptures and to the first pilgrims and messengers from ancient archaic civilizations. Kryštof Hošek is one of the most outstanding artists of the younger middle generation. Already during his studies at the Academy of Fine Arts, it was obvious that the central problem of his work would be the human form, understanding his physicality as man understood it before modern European dualism. Many of his large-scale sculptures are conceived for public space. With his sculptures, which oscillate on the border of decadence, caricature and pop art, he critically reacts to contemporary social or political events. His handwriting takes on an almost hyperrealistic form at times. One could add that his work is often based on the stories of human civilization, references to mythology, Christianity, art history and literature appear. Recently, he has exhibited at the Kampa Museum, NG Prague, DOX and GASK Kutná Hora.
