This graceful example of a sculpture of a Monkey in patinated bronze exhibits not only the elegance of sculptural invention but also the urgency of the sculpture's expression and gesture. Vingler was trained at the UMPRUM in Prague under professors Jan Lauda and Karel Štipl. He worked as a set designer at the Unitarie Theatre and the Prague Youth Theatre of Mila Mellanová, as a set designer at the theatre in Kladno, and collaborated with the Horácké Theatre in Jihlava. He devoted himself to sculpture and drawing, thematically to sculptures of birds, animals and their drawings. Only at the end of his life did he create human figures. From 1949 he was a designer of the Czechoslovak Ceramic Works, a member of the Union of Artists of Fine Arts and from 1947 a member of the Art Beseda. The offered sculpture comes from the author's family.
