The presented image veristically imitates the surf on the cliff into which the port is built. The sky is partly shrouded in heavy clouds and ships are trying to get to safety in time. The painting creates a contrast between the dramatic sky and the ships struggling with the water element and the peaceful atmosphere in the harbor, where people work.
