Roman Havelka (1877 - 1950) FOREST IN AUTUMN

The author belongs to landscapers who have undergone classical training. He started at the Prague School of Arts and Crafts under Stanislav Sucharda and Felix Jenewein and later moved to the Academy under Julius Mařák and Antonín Slavíček. He depicts landscapes in a modern lyrical manner. He became famous as a painter of the Podyjí region and as an illustrator of the publication of August Sedláček's famous writings on Czech castles and chateaus.
