Alexandra Exter (1882 - 1949) SCENE FROM A BALLET

From the opinion of PhDr. Anny Janištinová: "An important representative of the avant-garde and a world-famous artist, she has devoted herself to work for the theater for most of her creative life. She created many designs for decorations and costumes, which were mostly based on postcubist structurality and geometrized morphology. A unique painting from the end of the author's life enters the auction. It differs from previous work by its soft painting. Theatrical themes are expressed by a symmetrical composition, a dramatic effect of artificial light and a functional juxtaposition of red and blue, emphasizing expressiveness. " The offered work comes from the important private collection of Boris Gribanov.

Income earned from items 141 to 147 (Paintings from Gribanov's collection) will be used to support Ukrainian artists, individual scholarships for Ukrainian students, help with accommodation for Ukrainian mothers, health care and assistance, psychological help. The auction fee does not apply to these items.
