Martin's painting style, influenced by modern French art and the works of Republican Spanish painters, who exhibited in Prague in 1946 (especially Antoni Clavé), moved on the border between Cubism and Bonnard's post-impressionism. For young painters, his inspiration was his Parisian colorism and the subtlety of artistic drawing. Jiří Martin radiated personal charm and was able to theoretically penetrate the problems of modern art. Early works are characterized by contrasts of distinctive colored surfaces, the decorative effect of which enhances the rhythm of the contour line. In the 1950s, he painted monumentally figurative paintings in generous and brightly colored areas - this category also includes the painting Landscape with an Unknown Village in the Middle of Golden Fields Under an Ultramarine Sky.
