SCULPTURAL STILL LIFE
2009
49 x 59 cm (h x b)
| 2 292 EUR
The sculptural still life breaks out of the genre with its fanciful colours and a certain structuring of the composition, which adds monumentality to the painting. The painting moves more along the lines of a mystical shrunken landscape, in which new and unexpected structures crystallize and intertwine with symbols from the known world. Jaroslav Róna is undoubtedly one of the most important representatives of the 1980s generation, the author of several distinctive realisations in public space (Franz Kafka Monument in Prague) and a member of the group Tvrdohlaví (since 1987). Jaroslav Róna's works are above all very engaging for the viewer. There is always a bit of hyperbole in them, a slightly ironic approach to the world, and at the same time it is able to encompass existential themes and questions of the transformation of society over time.
