Jaroslav Serpan was a Czech-French painter, poet, writer and mathematician. He was declared missing on 17 May 1976 after a mountain hike in Ariège in the Pyrenees and his body was not found until May 1981. He moved in André Breton's inner circle and gradually moved from surrealism to informel. The present position of his work is inspired by Pop Art, which Serpan Dadaistically layers on the canvas in the form of collage, building an untold story.
