Brothers Vladimír and Zdeněk Kepek have been working together in the family business under the leadership of their father since the 1950s.This company in Kostelec nad Labem was confiscated from the family, but the Kepková brothers could still work here as civil employees. From the very beginning, they focused on the sandblasting technique, which they improved technologically. They made a unique, highly efficient device, in which they used an engine from a military tank to blast sand, which allowed them to sand the glass in deep relief. During the 1960s and 1970s, they designed three-dimensional glass sculptures made of blocks of glass. These blocks were machined in a sculptural manner using chisels, as well as by cutting, engraving and deep sandblasting. With the works thus created, he won an award at the 11th International Salon of Industry and Art in Paris in 1971.
