Karolína Mitašová, after completing her five-year studies at the Czech Technical University, spent two years studying architecture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague. She is devoted to graphics and also intensively to painting, in which she finds the focus of her work. Her paintings have been exhibited in the Netherlands and Great Britain. Her work is intertwined with an attempt to blend and harmonize order and chaos. She herself says that it is impossible to look at her paintings rationally. The colourful abstract world of Karolina Mitašová's paintings is elusive and organic. The experience is expressed matter-of-factly and spontaneously, in some compositions an honestly treated rhythm and a certain structurality prevails, in others a soft pastel lyricism and feeling prevails. The composition The Big Family deals with the theme of sharing and human bonds.
