Jozef Teodor Mousson (1887 - 1946) FOREST PATH

The work of the Slovak painter, originally from France, probably depicts his love of the eastern Slovak region. His life and work were connected with Michalovce. In 1905-1909 he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Budapest (Prof. Ballo), and in 1913 he undertook a study tour of Italy. His works take on a veristic and almost folkloristic quality, but are also brisk and impressionistic.
