Richly carved French console table with carving thematizing grotesque ornaments consisting in interweaving floral motifs with figurative ones. Around the central arms two dragons with open mouths, mascots with rosettes on the corners, the throne formed by a stylized shell. The upper panel is made of original marble with rich patterns called 'rouge de rance', which was used, for example, to make the exterior columns at the Palace of Versailles. The console table dates from the eight-year Regency period in France, when Philip II reigned in place of the young Louis XV. Orléans. Very good preserved condition.
