The empire clock depicts the mythological winged god of time, Chronos, with the attribute of a scythe leaning against the clock. The quarter-beating clockwork is placed in a figural box of richly carved gilded wood on a base of blackened pear with a gilded decoration. The well-preserved enamelled dial with inset gilt bronze with Arabic numerals and date dial bears the signature Johann Schwarz in Wien. Restored, movement to be adjusted by a watchmaker.
