Milan Beránek (1936 - 2019) DILEMMA OF THE TRUMP KING

The work of Milan Antonín Beránek is one of the other lines of art of the second half of the 20th century, which, however, has long been hidden from a holistic view. It deserves attention, however, because it tells us about important moments not only in the history of art, but also in the social and political events of the time, and thus helps us to form a more complex idea of the life and work of an individual. Beránek's work was spontaneously created out of inner convictions and impulses, and we can also perceive it through the narrative titles of his works as messages - he does so in a very original way through artistic gloss, metaphor or abbreviation. In the context of Czech art, the author is close to the aesthetics of informel and also grotesque, to the work of Jan Koblasa, Zbyněk Sekal or Nepraš.
