Věra Lišková (1924 - 1985) AN OWL

Věra Lišková created rich and fragile glass objects, whose delicate details emphasize the natural malleability of glass. The abstract sculpture Ode to Joy in Glass, inspired by musical notation, is one of her most ambitious works and has become part of the collections of the Corning Museum of Glass. Liška's chamber sculptures were inspired by the animal world, natural phenomena, music or dance. In 1968, she created the sculpture Explosion in response to the Soviet invasion.
