A POSITIONING ARCHITECT'S TABLE

A rare reclining table with a French patent by E. Chouanard can also be used as a stand, with a very elegantly formed stepped solid leg with a Doric column with entasis and cannelure, which was probably as part of the equipment for the work of an architect, for whom the flexibility of positions allowed multiple tasks: the possibility to raise and lower vertically, to tilt the top to any angle or to slide the top sideways. This patented system was referred to as "Soleil" (sun). The height is illustrated in the photograph. Excellent condition.
