Karel Boháček (1886 - 1928) BY THE FIRE

In his later work, Boháček shifted towards spaciousness and simplicity. His works were often exhibited at the Modern Gallery of the Kingdom of Bohemia. In 1910 he became a member of the Umělecká Beseda art association in Prague. He created poetic landscapes and figurative genre scenes from village life, influenced by Art Nouveau decorativism and folk art.
