Academic painter Karel Langer is one of the important representatives of Mařák's school and is a co-founder of Impressionism in our country. He studied in the studio under prof. J. Mařák at the Academy of Fine Arts in Prague, then studied for another three years at the figural special class under prof. Ottenfeld. The neo-romantic landscape of the Meadow with Dandelions is a delicate and elegant open-air museum with idyllic colors and bright light evoking the summer months. Similar paintings can be found in reproductions of Golden Prague or Světozor in the period before the First World War.
